Happy Easter!

We had such a wonderful weekend with Easter festivities.

Saturday morning we took Andrew to his first Easter egg hunt.  We went to the one in Albion.  I have heard so many horror stories of the Pullman one, plus I grew up in Albion and this was the one I did as a kid.  It had a nostalgic feeling.   The town split the park in to 3 areas and Andrew was in the 0-4 age group.  The kids lined up and there were eggs everywhere and in 2 minutes it was all gone.  Aaron was shocked how short it lasted.  Andrew was too awe struck with all the kids, but once we showed him there was candy in the eggs and candy on the ground, he was all over it.  He loved it.

The Easter bunny woke up early to hide the baskets this morning, but we had Stake Conference in the morning and then Andrew was ready for a nap when we got home, so Aaron and Andrew didn’t find their baskets till later.

I found these wind up chick and bunny and put one in each of their baskets.  They had such a great time playing with them and racing them.  Andrew thought they were so funny.  Andrew has defiantly discovered candy this holiday.  He ate that chocolate bunny in no time and then discovered jelly beans in an egg in his basket and they were gone too.  I had to take away his basket or he would have eaten all his candy.

We went out to my parents house and had an Easter egg hunt and dinner.  It was so much fun!  There were prize eggs with great prizes and yummy food for dinner.

Happy Easter everyone!

Fun Happenings This Past Week

Here are some of the things we did this past week.

Sunday night, while Dad was Home Teaching, AJ and I made a cream pie.  When I put the graham crackers in the Ziploc baggie to smash, AJ was heartbroken.  The expression on his face was “why are one of my favorite snacks being smashed up?  I like them whole.”  When I mixed it will butter and made a crust, it made more sense to him.  He is such a good helper in the kitchen.

Andrew has turned in to such a climber.  He can climb on the couch by himself and pretty much onto whatever he wants.  He is tall enough to play with the light switch by the couch.  One evening he climbed onto the couch and was playing with the buttons on the thermostat.  I got him down and told him we don’t play with those buttons. I forgot to look at the thermostat to see if anything changed.  The next morning we woke up to it being 80* in the house.  All the bedrooms are upstairs, so it is warmer up there naturally.  Needless to say, we were all in a sweat when we woke up.

Andrew likes to play peekaboo around the corner of the living room when we are in the kitchen.  So cute!

The weather if finally starting to turn nice.  We spent a lot of time playing outside this week.  Andrew likes to play with the locks on the electrical boxes on our street.  When we are on a walk he has to stop and try each one out.

Aaron and AJ love playing with Duplo's.  This was a creation they made while I was at work.

I would like to introduce you to Superhero.  He is the neighborhood cat who Andrew LOVES!  No one really knows who owns him, he just owns the neighborhood.  Anytime Superhero is walking past our house, AJ gets so excited to play with him.  He is the most calm, laid back cat, who loves attention.  He is a good cat to have around.

We needed to make a run to Walmart this week and I told Andrew “let’s go to Walmart.”  He went and picked up two of his snack cups and his frog.  He likes to be prepared.  He will make a good Boy Scout one of these days.  He discovered this frog in his toy box this week and it has gone everywhere with us.  AJ insisted it even go into Walmart with us.  He came out carrying all of his stuff and dropped a pretzel, so he put everything down and sat down to pick it up.  He has started the phase where he wants to take a toy with him when we leave the house.  I can’t wait to see which things he feels he needs to take with him.

Aaron mowed the lawn for the first time this spring.  You know spring is here when all the lawnmowers come out in the neighborhood.  This is another thing AJ is attached too.  Whenever we go out in the backyard he grabs his bucket, tennis ball and jump rope to play with.

We went to the park this week too.  One thing about Andrew is he either has no fear or no common sense, I am not sure which one yet.  We went to go look at the ducks and he about ran right into the pond so he could touch the ducks.  Good thing I was there to catch him.  He had a hard time understanding that ducks go into the pond, not us, we stay on the grass.  Andrew has not meet animal he hasn’t liked yet.  He loves animals.  If there are older kids picking up animals, he will be right there trying to pick them up too.

Andrew discovered a love of slides this week.  He will climb up and go down them by himself now.
