4th of July

We had a great 4th of July!  We started the festivities by going to the Albion parade.  This has been a tradition since I was a kid and I hope to keep it going with our family.  Andrew thought it was great since there were fire trucks, police cars, horses and lots of cars.  The best part was everyone in the parade threw out candy.  He got so excited when they threw the candy!  He got a whole bag full of candy.  What little boy wouldn’t be in heaven?!  We forgot the camera.  Sorry no pictures.

After the parade we headed home so Andrew could get a nap (I know, mean parents, but we knew he was going to be up late and we wanted a happy Andrew).  Every year our neighborhood puts on a parade and Andrew was excited to be in it this year.  He was so excited to ride in the street like the big kids!  I decorated his bike and we headed down to the cul-de-sac.

Everyone meets down at the cul-de-sac to start the parade.  The parade is down our street to the stop sign a few times.  Andrew did a good job bringing up the rear.

At the end of the parade everyone meets back and has popsicles.  This year the kids got medals and a bag of candy.  They also give away the Casey Cup every year to the most patriotic family.

After the parade we headed to my parents for our annual neighborhood BBQ and fireworks.  Andrew really got into pop its this year.  He went through 300 in no time!

We had a yummy BBQ with good friends and family.  When it got dark we had quite the fireworks show!  Andrew loved the fireworks!  We always have a great show!

Crazy Bath Hair

Andrew has been all about the bath lately.  He would take a bath 5 times a day if we let him.  He is such a fish!  He was playing with the basket that holds all his bath toys and putting it on his head.  Then he said “mom, crazy hair!”  Yes indeed it is crazy hair!

Super AJ

This is the way Andrew wears his shirt when he wants to be a superhero.  He puts his arms through the neck and pulls it down around his waist.  He can do all sorts of jumps and spins and climbing when he is a superhero!  Super AJ to the rescue!

Father’s Day

Aaron had a great Father’s Day.  He requested breakfast burritos for breakfast, which he thought were yummy.

We went to church and relaxed all day.  For dinner he requested ribs, so I decided to go all out with a BBQ rib dinner with ribs, potato salad, coleslaw, biscuits and strawberry lemonade.  He also got peanut butter s’mores bar for dessert.  And of course Andrew and I got him some presents.  I got him a book for fathers by L.Tom Perry and Andrew got him a Lego train station and some Lego guys.  Talk about a spoiled dad, but we sure love him!

We have church in the afternoon so Andrew misses his nap.  He usually falls asleep around 6 or 6:30 and sleeps till 7 the next morning.  So this is how he spend Father’s Day dinner, on the couch, sound asleep.

Let’s Go To The Circus!

Our neighbors gave us tickets to the Shrine Circus in Lewiston.  To be honest, when we got there it looked a little ghetto and we were leery to go in.  We decided since we drove down here, why not.  Best decision, it was an awesome circus!

That morning Andrew wanted some popcorn.  I told him we were going to the circus and we would get popcorn there.  He asked what a circus was and I told him it will have animals like tigers, elephants, bears and lions as well as people juggling and doing tricks.  He said, “no circus, lions have sharp teeth, they will hurt Andrew.”  (Yes we are still in the phase where he refers to himself in the third person.) I told him we would sit far away from the lions and we wont let them hurt him.  He was ok with that, as long as he could have popcorn.

The set up when we got there.   It was at the Lewiston High School football field.  They had 3 rings with a tent behind it.  They had pony and elephant rides, picture with a bear and a snake.  The bear booth was funny: they had the bear sit on a chair with a piece of plexiglas between him and the chair the person sat in and they were feeding the bear a bag of BBQ potato chips to get him to sit there.

The story of my life, “Andrew look at this” and of course he is always looking the other way.

Waiting for the circus to start. Andrew reminded us many times he wanted popcorn.  Don’t worry, we got him some.

Some of the acts: tigers, juggler, motorcycle globe, trick BMX bike rider, bears, elephants and a guy balancing on tower of chairs.  They also had girls on ropes and other balancing acts. The circus lasted 2 hours with only one intermission and it was defiantly entertaining.  Andrew tried his first licorice rope.  Aaron bought one for himself and asked Andrew if he wanted to try it and Aaron never got it back, so he had to buy another one for himself.

Andrew liked the motorcycle globe the best.  It started out with one motorcycle and then ended up with three motorcycles going at once.  After they were done, it was intermission and immediately Andrew ran over to the globe to see how they did it.  He was fascinated.
