The Long Awaited Kitchen Set

This year for Christmas I wanted to get Andrew a kitchen set. I saw a cute homemade one on a blog made from an Ikea nightstand.  I drew up the plans and Aaron and I built it together.  It was fun to work on a project together in the garage. 

Christmas eve we played Santa and set up the kitchen set by the tree.   In the morning Andrew crawled down the stairs and ran right to the kitchen set.  He has had so much fun playing with it.  Aunt Tiana and Uncle Cameron got him some play food and he has made quite the meals.  He has learned how to make pretend eating and drinking noises.  He says hot and blows on the food when it comes out of the oven.  So cute!

I made the kitchen towels and pot holders.  It even has a chalkboard.

I made the salt and pepper shakers too.

A New Monkey Friend

I finally got around to finishing Andrew’s sock monkey during naptime today.  I think it turned out pretty cute. 

I set it on the couch so Andrew could find it when he woke up from his nap.  He pulled it off the couch and gave it a hug.

He is in the dragging phase, so this poor monkey will probably be dragged around the house by his tail more than he would like to be.

I am trying to decide if I leave the monkey like this or add some red hair on top. Any thoughts?

Have Chicken Nuggets, Will Travel

Today we were having an indoor picnic lunch in the living room.  His new favorite thing to do is sit on the bottom stair when he has a snack.  He also needs to have something in each hand.  Two is better than one, right?  He got up with his chicken nuggets so I figured he went to eat them on the stairs.  He then came over pulling his trike with his chicken nuggets on it and every time they fell off, he put them back on.  He eventually ate them, but I guess it needed to go for a ride first.

Yes, it was lunch time and Andrew is still in his jammies.  He woke up with a cold yesterday and was feeling worse today, so I figured he would like to stay in his jammies.

Quite Handsome For a Monday

Andrew was playing upstairs and found his tie in the craft room waiting to be mended.  He tried and tried to put it on himself and eventually came over to ask for help.  He insisted that he need to wear his tie.  I guess he felt the need to look his best. 

A New Nativity Set

We got a Christmas package from my best friend Sarah today in the mail.  When I took it out of the mail envelope, Andrew proceeded to unwrap it.  He has been practicing unwrapping the Costco toilet paper from it’s individual wrappers for weeks, preparing for the Christmas season. 

Sarah had sent us a very cute, Andrew friendly nativity set.

It’s Beginning To Look A lot Like Christmas!

We have been having fun decorating, buying and wrapping presents, listening to Christmas music every day and enjoying this wonderful season.  Andrew has been getting into the Christmas spirit as well…

He likes to play under the tree…

Take the garland and ornaments off the tree and run around the house with it or wear it as a necklace…

We have the ever popular toddler tree where only the top half is decorated.

He likes to help mom bake cookies for friends and neighbors…

He likes to play coy when mom asks what is in his mouth. 

He does well for quality control of the cookie dough.

These are the cookies we made.  They turned out pretty cute.  Thanks Parents magazine for the 12 days of cookies!

He wasn’t sure about the delivering of the cookies.  It was wet and cold and nap time or else I think he would have had a good time…

He likes to dance to Christmas music and what a great dancer he is…
