Ward Campout

Friday night we had the ward campout at Kamiak Butte.

After we ate dinner and set up camp, we went to the playground area with the Mclains.

Here is the view from the playground/day use area.  An up close picture of wheat (still too green to harvest).

The Mclains went home before they got locked into the park and we went back to camp.  We were the only ones who spent the night, so I guess we had date night instead of the ward campout.  We played Uno and Rummy and roasted marshmallows for smores on our Coleman stove since we couldn't have open fires.  We forgot the pump for the air mattress so we really had to rough it by sleeping on the ground.  Neither one of us slept very good, I guess we are getting old.  :(

The next morning we hiked up Kamiak Butte after breakfast.

We stopped to play with the camera and take pictures of flowers.  Fun huh?!

We made it to the top!  Look at the view!  This is where we live and what we see everyday.

Fresh Coat of Paint

To help the condo sell, and to pass inspection, we redid the bathroom a bit. We painted and changed out the towel racks. It was good fun.

Pop the Question!

I won Pop the Question the other morning on the radio. I answered "Over twelve thousand of these are lost at airports each week." The answer is laptops! I got two free movie tickets and a 1gb thumb drive.

Silverwood

Charles and Kati had some tickets to Silverwood that expired on the 15th, so I thought it would be cool if we met up and made a day of it. Sense we were already in Coure D'Alene on the 4th, we did it on the 5th. It was really cool because Charles brought his brothers and Janel's family came.

I don't think I've been on a roller coaster before so we made it a point to go on the Tremors one there. It's called tremors because it is made of wood and is really rickety. They take your picture on it too. Their camera is kind of crappy, but I had to get it.

They had a big water park there too, so after we got done with the one roller coaster we went there. The water park was great fun, but there was just too many people. The lines were crazy for a twenty second ride.

We made sure to bring the waterproof case too.

To end the day we saw a magic show and an ice skating show. The magic show was pretty good. I got in trouble at the ice skating for taking pictures because the material (them skating around) was copyrighted.

Independence Day

I decided to do something different for the 4th of July, so we went to Coeur D'Alene to goof around. We wanted to get there in time to go to the parade. Luckily Janel has some family friends that live up there, the Smiths. We were able to hook-up with them for the low-down on parade parking. We had some down-time before the parade started, so we chilled in the park.

The parade was pretty good. Not as good as Apple Blossom but good.

We didn't stay for the Coeur D'Alene fireworks because it's just a zoo down there, so we went to the Hayden Lake one instead. We sat out on a dock on the lake so we could really get the full effect. It was fun.

Afterwards we went back to the Smith's for some fireworks of our own. We stopped at a firework stand before, but everything we so expensive that I didn't get too much. I did get some of the usual though, grown flowers, strobes, etc.
