Ward Campout

Friday night we had the ward campout at Kamiak Butte.

After we ate dinner and set up camp, we went to the playground area with the Mclains.

Here is the view from the playground/day use area.  An up close picture of wheat (still too green to harvest).

The Mclains went home before they got locked into the park and we went back to camp.  We were the only ones who spent the night, so I guess we had date night instead of the ward campout.  We played Uno and Rummy and roasted marshmallows for smores on our Coleman stove since we couldn't have open fires.  We forgot the pump for the air mattress so we really had to rough it by sleeping on the ground.  Neither one of us slept very good, I guess we are getting old.  :(

The next morning we hiked up Kamiak Butte after breakfast.

We stopped to play with the camera and take pictures of flowers.  Fun huh?!

We made it to the top!  Look at the view!  This is where we live and what we see everyday.

Some neat wood and rock formations at the top.

I love that area of Pullman. When I was at home, we used to go up to the Butte with our dogs and have picnics. So much fun! Glad to see you enjoying yourselves.

Two years running and we still haven't been able to go. I really wish we had just said "Heck with it!" and gone this year. So what if Zach had work the next day, we could have just left early. Ok, last year, there was no way I was going! Nine months along, it was uncomfortable enough in a real bed. Well, I hope you guys had fun.

I miss my hometown! Utah really stinks sometimes. Remember a hundred years ago when you and Jessi and I camped there? I hiked to the top the next morning by myself before you guys woke up! What was I thinking?
