Yummy Snack

Andrew and I went to the store yesterday and they had the Gerber cheese puffs on sale, so I thought; “that would be a fun snack, who doesn't like cheese puffs?” So he tried them while I made dinner. He thought they were delicious, but I couldn't hand them to him fast enough, so I decided to see what he would do if I gave him the whole container.

He thought that was a great idea. Yummy!

8 months

Today Andrew turns 8 months.  I can’t believe it!  It seems as if I just had him.  He is such a fun, happy boy.  He has discovered his voice and finding different ranges to “speak” in. He imitates any range you do.  He is constantly watching our mouth when we speak and moving his mouth like he is trying to say those words.  He is constantly babbling and making different sounds with his mouth.  He loves to laugh and will laugh at pretty much anything.  He will sit on the floor and just laugh and laugh about something.  Such a cute sound.

I take care of a few kids a week and Andrew loves kids, so they have a lot of fun together.  Some days our house looks like a daycare center with toys everywhere, but it is so much fun.  We have been playing outside quite a bit and going to story time.  He loves the songs and all the kids.  He loves the Itsy Bitsy Spider, Wheels on the Bus and the Washing Machine song.  When the kids laugh at the end of the songs, he starts laughing too and acts like he is a big kid too (he seems very proud of himself there).  He has made some friends and it has been fun checking out new books every week.IMG_4217

Andrew loves his feet and has started to suck on his toes (which I think is gross, but at least they are baby toes).  He is rolling in both directions and actually likes to play on his stomach (which is a shock since he has never liked his tummy).  We got him a new toy: a leap frog music table and he loves it!  He will stand there and bounce to the music or hold one with one hand.  He thinks he can stand there without holding on, but gravity gets him every time.

He is eating great and loves to eat.  He was introduced to graham crackers by some of his friends and now I think it is his favorite food.  No teeth yet, but he is drooling like crazy and chewing on EVERYTHING, so I think they should come through anytime.  He is getting to such a fun age and I love that his personality is starting to show through.

His stats:

Ht: 27 3/4 in.

Wt: 18 lbs.

Head Circ: 46 cm.

Tag blanket

I made this tag blanket and animals yesterday and it turned out pretty cute.  I finished it last night and gave it to AJ when he woke up this morning and he thought it was great.  He loves things with tags on them, so I think he will have fun with this blanket.

Now every time I bring out the camera, AJ smiles.  I love that!  No more scowling at the camera.

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter spending it with my side of the family.  The Easter bunny hid Easter baskets for Aaron and Andrew this morning.  They had a good time finding them and seemed to enjoy playing with their new toys.

Aaron brought me flowers on Friday.

We went out to my parents house and spent the day with them.  We watched conference and dyed Easter eggs and had a wonderful dinner.

My brother discovered the joy of shrink wrappers for Easter eggs and had a good time.  We thought this would be the perfect size dumbbell for Andrew.

My mom always makes bunny rolls for Easter.  Yummy!

I made Andrew an Easter  bunny onesie to wear for today.  It turned out pretty cute.

We played and Andrew, dad and uncle Tyler had a good time building towers and knocking them over.

Andrew even read books with Grandpa.

I made my first trifle for dessert.  It was a strawberry orange cream trifle.  It was pretty tasty.

Bitten’ By The Craft Bug

Lately I have been feeling crafty.  I think it is because of the new sewing machine I got for my birthday.  These are some the crafts I have been making.

One of our friends is having a baby very soon.  She is having a little boy, so I made her some boy burp cloths.

I saw this cute pattern for a clutch and I thought how cute is that?!  It will be great to hold my wallet and keys and small stuff for Andrew (like a binky), instead of carrying it all.   I can just throw it in the diaper bag and keep all my stuff separate from Andrew’s stuff.   It will be nice for when we just have to run into a store and don’t need the whole diaper bag.  Or when just I go out and I don’t have to transfer to another purse.  I did make the mistake of following the pattern and not measuring my wallet, so I had to downsize to a smaller wallet, since my regular wallet took up the whole bag.  I will see how this one goes or I may make a bigger one.  Here is the link for the pattern if anyone is interested:   http://fromanigloo.blogspot.com/2010/03/scrappy-clutch.html

I have been looking for ideas for a little something for the kitchen area.  I watch the show Cougar Town (the one with Courtney Cox.  I think it is my inner “Friends” trying to get out.) every now and then and I saw this in her kitchen and I thought “that’s fun.”  So I made one.  I am waiting for Aaron to hang it on the wall, since he is the official picture hanger (or else there would be a lot of holes hiding under the picture).

I have also been making bundles of cards and quiet books for presents.  I am going to be sad when I loose my craft room and kids take over the house.  I try to not to think so far ahead and enjoy it while I can.
