A Star Wars Party

Last Friday, one of Andrew’s good friends, Zack, had a birthday party.  It was a Star Wars party!  I helped his mom, Laurel, plan the party and do some of the decorations.  We had a great time!

The birthday boy, Zack, getting ready to blow out the candle on his cake.  (Andrew just woke up and was insistent on wearing his hood.  What can you do?)

The kids had masks of different characters.  Andrew chose C3PO.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a party without having delicious cake and ice cream!

Laurel had made all the kids light sabers out of pool noodles.  Whenever we go to Zack’s house to play, Andrew always has to play with a light saber. He was very excited to find out he got his own one that he can take home.  He kept asking me, We get to keep this light saber at our house?  I said yes and he would get the biggest smile on his face.

Laurel set up a Jedi training area for the little Jedi’s.   The had to crawl under tables, around chairs, fight the death star, keep balloons off the ground with their light sabers and defeat Darth Vader (uncle Johnny) in the hall.  At the end they got Jedi certificates.

Andrew took some time out to help Zack sister, Hayley, play the Star Wars theme song on the piano.
