Andrew turned 1 on Friday and had a great birthday weekend. We opened our door in the morning to find balloons and sugar cookies Grandma Mertes dropped off on her way to work.
AJ would eat off all the mini M&M’s first and then decide if he wanted the cookie or not. He knows where the good stuff is.
Saturday we had his bug themed birthday party. We had such a great time with friends and family.
Aaron, Robyn (Aaron’s mom) and I made bug themed snacks for the party. Ladybug strawberries, ants on a log, and peanut butter cracker spiders. We also made ladybug, bee and spider cupcakes. I made goodie boxes full of gummy worms for everyone and bubbles for the kids to take. We also had a bug making station with pom poms, pipe cleaners and googlie eyes.
We sang Happy Birthday to Andrew and he seemed to enjoy his ladybug cupcake.
Andrew got spoiled with all the new toys he got. Towards the end he wasn’t having as much fun since he and dad would open a present and then he would see it and dad would put it aside to open another one. It really is a mean way to do presents since he thought they were great toys and wanted to play but then they were gone and he didn't know if they were coming back. What a tease.
After they got done opening all the presents, we took them out of the packages and let Andrew and the other kids play with them. Andrew was much happier then.
Thanks for all who made Andrew’s first birthday a success! We had so much fun!
