Andrew's 4th Birthday

We had lots of fun celebrating Andrew's 4th birthday Saturday.

Andrew wanted a Superman birthday party, so we setup a superman training course. Andrew led the way through several grueling challenges.

Up the climbing wall.

Through the ropes course.

Over the ladder.

After completing the training and earning their capes, they went back through the course and made it look easy.

The teeter-totter was no obstacle.

The gangplank couldn't stop them.

And the ladder just made it easier to fly.

As super heroes they had to work together to rescue action figures trapped all around the yard and defeat villains.

Super-hero work can be hard work.

But it is all worth it.

After all the outdoor fun, the super heroes retired inside to enjoy some birthday cake and presents.

Andrew got lots of great presents from friends and family. Mom and Dad got him a bike.

Now he can patrol the neighborhood and keep it safe from the forces of evil.

I came downstairs one night after the kids were in bed and saw Aaron and Andrew's shoes together and felt a love for the bond fathers and sons have.  Andrew looks up to Aaron so much and wants to be just like him and do everything he does.  Aaron is such an amazing father.  He is so patient with Andrew and loves teaching him all he knows.  The have such a wonderful relationship.

 

For Father's Day we got Aaron a wireless thermometer for his smoker and BBQ.  It has two probes; one to measure the temperature of the grill and the other the meat.  Plus, the other remote is wireless so he can be anywhere and keep an eye on the temperature of the grill.  Andrew is always telling Aaron what number is on the thermometer and they like to watch it together. 

 

 

 

 

Aaron also got his dream outdoor chair.  It has an umbrella, foot rest, cooler and cup holder all in one chair!  Looks like a good way to enjoy the outdoors!

Our New Diet Plan

  

We found  this lock the other day and showed Andrew how it worked. Now he has been locking  up all sorts of things. He  got it in his mind that it would be fun to lock up the fridge several times a day. It is not as helpful as you would think. We will see how this new diet affects our waistline.
