A New Swing

Since the weather has been nice lately, we have been going to the park to play. Andrew loves the baby swings there and is excited to go on it. We were at Wal-Mart yesterday and decided to buy a baby swing for our swing set. I watch a few kids during the week and when we go out in the backyard to play, it will be nice for Andrew to swing with the rest of the kids.

We went out to “supervise” dad putting it up and played some ourselves.

We took pictures of ourselves…

We played on the swing set and went down the slide. When he got to the bottom of the slide he sat there and then stood up and then it looks like he could go run and play, but instead he fell over and wasn’t too happy. When he stands, he holds on with one hand or lets go and thinks he will keeps standing, but he falls over instead.

Then he tried it out. He seemed to like it.

We also took some family pictures.

7 months…already?!

I can’t believe Andrew is 7 months already.  My how time flies.  He is growing everyday and is such a wonderful little boy.  He has finally learned how to roll from his stomach to his back.  Ever since he was a newborn he has hated tummy time and is still not a fan of it.  We still do tummy time everyday, much to his disagreement.  Last week I put him on his stomach and he rolled right to his back with a look of ha, ha, no more tummy time for me.  Now every time we put him on his stomach, he rolls right onto is back.  He has almost figured out how to roll from his back to his stomach.

I love this one of him laughing, so cute!

IMG_4051 IMG_4054  He loves food.  I have never meet a kid who loves to eat as much as he does.  It worries me that he will eat us out of our home when he is a teenager.  We have been making our own baby food and he loves it.  I am glad he isn't picky about texture and taste.

The other day we were eating lunch and Andrew kept eyeing our cheetos, so we let him have one.  He thought they were pretty tasty.  He wants everything that we are eating, so we give him bites of our food and you can tell he feels like a big boy.

He even likes to help us cook…

I took him to the clinic to weigh and measure him and here are his stats:

Height: 27 1/4 in. (60%)

Weight: 17 lbs 14 oz (45%)

Head circ: 45.5 cm (90% no surprise there)

I am excited that it is starting to get warm outside so we can go out and play!

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was our 3rd anniversary.  My how time flies when you are having fun!  Our anniversary snuck up on us this year and we were deciding what to do since it was on a Tuesday.  So we decided to book a hotel room and go out of town.  Maybe out of town should be in quotes.  We dropped Andrew off at my parents house.  I think my mom was more excited for Andrew to come and spend the night more than anything else.  Thanks mom for taking care of him for us!

We went out to dinner at Banyans (a restaurant in the country club on the golf course).  It is so yummy and one of our favorite places to go.  Then we went “out of town” to Moscow and stayed at the La Quinta hotel.  We booked the Jacuzzi suite and had high hopes for what we were told was a beautiful suite.  (They also call it their honeymoon suite.)  It was nice, but not what we excepting at all.

We were on the top floor, so it had a nice view of the hotel.

The amazing Jacuzzi tub as they called it.  (I’ve seen better.)

I made a snack basket filled with fun drinks, candy, homemade chocolate covered strawberries and Aaron’s favorite store bought sugar cookies.

We went swimming and relaxed in the hot tub when we got there.  It was nice to relax and spend time together and not worry about anything.  The continental breakfast they serve was better than most!  They had waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage and eggs to make egg mcmuffins, hashbrowns, and then the usual pastries, cereal and such.  I love breakfast foods, so I was impressed!  We had a great anniversary! Even though we were only 8 miles from home, it felt like we were on vacation.  Andrew and grandma had a good time too.  I went and picked Andrew up this morning and you could tell they had lots of fun.

No One Is Ever To Young For A Fort.

Let’s start by saying Aaron still loves building forts. I think that is one reason why he was excited to be a dad so he can teach the kids how to build forts and play in them.

I came home from work last night to find a fort on the couch. Andrew seemed to enjoy the fort. He liked drinking his bottle in there and playing in it. Aaron and Andrew have so much fun together and I think they enjoy their dad/son bonding time while I am at work. Andrew gets so excited when Aaron comes home and wants to play with him.
