Happy Halloween!

We had a fun Halloween this year.  We carved pumpkins…

You know it is serious business when you have to use the dremel on your pumpkin.

My sister Emily, gave us this baby pumpkin (which baby pumpkins are my absolute favorite) and we thought it was the perfect size for Andrew.  Especially since he is too little to carve his own.

We also went to our wards Trunk or Treat Friday night.  We decorated our trunk Indiana Jones theme.  Aaron was very excited for Halloween this year.  We dressed up from Raiders of the Lost Ark.  Aaron was Indi, I was Miriam and Andrew was the monkey that was with them.  We could finally complete the scene.  We had a good time.

Aaron and I have started a family tradition since we have been married.  We buy the pumpkin shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's and watch a Halloween type movie.  Aaron doesn't like scary movies and this year we watched the movie Igor.  It came out last year and is an animated movie.  It was pretty cute.  Aaron handed out candy and I dressed up Andrew in his monkey costume and visited some of the neighbors.  Tyler and Kate came over later and we watched Wolverine and ate candy.  It was fun to hand out candy and see all the kids dressed up.  We never had trick or treaters when we lived in the condo.  It is fun to live in such a family friendly neighborhood.

Must Be Pumpkin Time

I got Andrew dressed today and must have had all the wonderful things I love about fall on my mind….the leaves changing, pumpkins, candy corn, crispness in the air….I finished getting him dressed and looked at his outfit and thought “well he is ready for fall too.”  It is amazing what the mind can do subconsciously.

2 months old

Yesterday, Andrew turned 2 months old. He is getting to be so much fun. He smiles and coos and is a happy little boy. He has discovered his mobile in his crib and likes to watch it, he still is fascinated by the wall behind the couch. He has also found the TV and likes watching the shadows and movements on it. He is learning that he likes bath time and has a good time kicking in the water. I think we are almost on a schedule, which is great. Andrew and Aaron have had some good daddy/son bonding time during the week. I have gone back to work Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays evenings, for 3 hours at a time. I am also in the Young Women Presidency, so I have to go to Mutual on Wednesdays, so they get quite a bit of bonding time. They seem to have a good time together. Aaron is anxiously waiting for the day when Andrew can play with toys and push trucks across the floor and run around together.

He had his 2 month check up yesterday and Dr. Frostad said he is doing great. He even did well for his immunizations and thought the Rotateq was delicious. So far he has been fine and no reaction from his shots. What a tough boy we have.

His stats:

Height: 22 1/4 (50%)

Weight: 12 lbs 0 ozs (75%)

FOC: 40 cm (75%) (head circumference)

We have this toy, that he is starting to get use to, and the other day he found the “baby” in the mirror. He loves to look at it and smiles and coos, but I don't think he realizes it is his reflection he is looking at. He also enjoys batting the lion around and talks to it.

(Disclaimer: Every time I get out the camera when he is smiling and having fun, he sees the camera and will glare at it or put his serious face on. Probably since he can’t see my face and only sees this weird thing. Hopefully one day he will get use to the camera and keep smiling, so you can see him being happy instead of serious.)

Smiling

Andrew is getting to the stage where he can smile on his own (and it is not related to gas).  He loves to smile when you smile at him and coo when you talk to him.  He is getting good at copying our face and is becoming his own little person.  It is so cute.

Chattanooga!

I got to go to another NASPI meeting. This one was held in Chattanooga. Not very glamorous, but it was still a fun time.

IMG_3245

We got to take the big jet this time. It is way more comfortable than the small we took the last couple of times. It was pretty fast too. We made it there in 3 hours.

It was raining, or misting, the first day we got there. We had some free time so we went out for a walk. Got to explore a little downtown and the river.

This was out vendor booth. We had lots of people interested in our products. It went pretty good.

Our pilot got sick, so we had to stay an extra night, which wasn’t too shabby because we got to go to the aquarium and miss a little work on Friday.

We flew over Pullman on the way back so we could approach from the west. I got a picture of our house. Well kind of.

I don’t have much to say about NASPI. Just more of the same.

Mountain Dew Cupcakes

That's right, you read it right. Aaron loves Mountain Dew and he came across a recipe on Facebook for Mountain Dew Cupcakes (since he is a fan). We decided to make them today so we could try them out.

It tastes just like Mountain Dew. I thought it would be a lemon and/or lime cupcake, but we did a comparison with cupcake and Mountain Dew and it tastes exactly the same. Aaron is in heaven.
